A dry lively and refreshing Riesling with elegant lime, grapefruit and peach aromas. The typical minerality from the terroir brings purity to the palate. The final is zesty, giving an aromatic complexity and finesse.
The Winery:
The estate comprises a dozen hectares, including 3.5 hectares classified as Grand Cru Frankstein.
All wines, vinified and bottled at the Domaine, come exclusively from owned vines.
Since joining the Estate in 2000, Stéphane (the eldest son) has favoured a natural approach to wine culture in order to best extract the delicate character of the granite terroir.
Convinced that the quality of wines depends above all on the quality of our vines, Domaine Mersiol cultivates all of their vines using organic farming methods in order to preserve the natural balance of the soil and plants.
They promote biological life, thus improving the rooting of the vines and their capacity for absorbing trace elements. They avoid compacting their soils as much as possible (use of light machines - Caterpillar, low-pressure tires - and optimization of passages in the vines), taking advantage of natural microbial life and controlled vigour, the vine becomes less susceptible to parasitic attacks.
From 2005 they converted the farm to Organic Farming (ECOCERT certification).
